We\u2019re all different and have different needs. Whether it\u2019s six or eight hours of sleep doesn\u2019t matter\u2014you know best what your body needs. Plus, you\u2019ll send a clear message and act as a role model.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><b> Take time for self-reflection<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s vital to reflect on situations which haven\u2019t gone as planned or as you had imagined. After all, you don\u2019t want those not-so-ideal situations to give you anxiety afterwards. On the contrary, you\u2019ll want to be better prepared in the future. That\u2019s why it\u2019s essential to figure out what went wrong. Here are two practical tips for you:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Write down the most important information and you\u2019re corresponding feelings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Reflecting helps, mulling over a situation hurts. Therefore, add the must-haves for your personal wellbeing to the top items on your list, whether it\u2019s your evening meditation, the morning run, or reading that new novel during lunch break. You want these things to become part of your routine in order to stop stressing about them\u2014or about other things.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><b> Be aware<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Awareness might be an abstract concept, yet it\u2019s just a matter of practice. We should learn to be aware of the present, of all those little moments. Especially leaders need to be able to consciously perceive their environment in order to do their job effectively. So, actively take some time (a couple of minutes are often enough) to be present and aware of what\u2019s happening around you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Self-care for better leadership<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-care and self-management belong together and are interdependent. Only if you\u2019re in a good place yourself and have enough energy, you can be there for others (no matter if on the job or at home).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In conclusion, it\u2019s safe to say that self-care isn\u2019t selfish, but necessary to be successful as a leader in the long term.
